THE LONG WAY HOME
The 5th annual TCR FM TAMWORTH 10km was won by Stephen Long of Notts AC in 34:33 and in an exciting finish second place Simon Birch of Hinckley Running Club was close behind in 34:39 with Neil O’Hanlon just behind in third in 34:45.
A record field for the newly designed Tamworth 10k route of nearly 500 enjoyed the warm early autumn sunshine and were entertained by the outside broadcast from TCR FM and the presence of GB international 400m hurdler Meghan Beesley ( pictured with runners) who started the race and was on hand to present the trophies and medals.
First woman home was Rachel Langbein of Taunton AC in 39:13 with Elizabeth Watters of Birchfield Harriers second in 44:08 and in third place Laura Roberts in 46:10.
