Birchfield Harrier Matthew Missen won in an exciting finish to the Fradley 10k today (Sunday March 11th). Another big turn out for the region’s first major 10k of the running season saw Missen lead early on in a small group containing Hatton Dart’s Ashley Hurdman the 2017 Fradley10k winner and Lee Gratton and the three fought it out all the way round the flat fast route for Missen to break away and win in 33:07 followed closely by Hurdman in second 33:26 and Gratton a close third in 33:33.
First female Home was Higham Harriers’ Rachel Doherty in 37:43 with Jessie Lutwyche second in 38:31 and Birchfield Harrier Elizabeth Watters third in 40:15.

The Florette Fradley 10K is a popular run and attracts around 1,000 entrants each year. Covering flat, country roads, its a great event for beginners and pros alike. The Fradley 10k has previously been nominated in the national Running Awards for the Best 10k Race for personal best times.
Today’s (February 25th) Xtreme Challenge at Catton Hall Estate in South Derbyshire saw Adam Carney storm the mud laden, wind swept, winter heavy obstacle challenged 10k course to win in a fantastic time of 51:19, close to a course record.
Richard Holden finished second in 52:27 with Rhys Jeremiah in third 54:17. First female athlete home was Jess Orton in 1:05:17 with Natalie Lawrence second in 1:07:48 and Lasma Blazevica third in 1:20:02. See the FULL RESULTS below (click “more”).
